I can't feel my fingers

IDKTUS
This is making using my laptop really awkward. But I literally cannot feel my thumb, index, or middle finger on my right hand. And part of my ring finger.

I went to see the hand specialist this morning about my carpal tunnel syndrome. I have it. It’s really bad in my right hand, he did some x-rays to confirm it though I had the EMG report. He gave me splints to wear while I sleep to help keep my wrists straight. I go back in three weeks to see how I’m doing.

Cause he gave me Cortisone injections. In both wrists.

Holy hepeodjfikgvbfgvd

He was just going to do one. He was only going to do my left, and see if it helped any, then if it did, he’d do my right in a few weeks. but my dad was like ‘well can’t you go ahead and do both?’ and the doctor said: ‘if she wants me to.’

He did my left hand and I was very. Unhappy. I was crying, and trying to joke and make myself laugh so I wouldn’t just break down. And they kept asking if I wanted to do my right hand and I was like GTIGKRBNF??? and dad said “Why don’t you just get it over with instead of having to come back.” And logically I thought, well yeah. Ookay. So they let me chill for a few minutes. Then they came back to do the right hand

nooOOOOO

My right hand was like ten times worse. I actually yelled out and my hand has been shaking ever since. And numb lol the left hand didnt go numb at all (my pinky and down the side of it huuuuurts tho) my right hand is like n0. But oh my God. And after he did it I said “That was a lot worse” and the doctor just goes

“Yeah.”

THANKS FOR THE WARNING

In 3 weeks hes gonna look at my progress and we go from there. I told dad, I’m glad the doctors are finding shit, but they need to stop HURTING ME. Let’s stab your hands, lets stick a camera up your bladder, lets not give you pain medication even though you’re in extreme pain RAAHJSDKFGV

-curls up in a ball-

they told me my fingers may be numb for days. DAYS.

Can we not

What's that old saying? It's gonna get a lot worse before it gets better? But at least that means you're on the rode to recovery.

Keep on truckin'~

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry. I had a cortisone shot in my hip a few weeks ago and have had them in my knee before. They always hurt like hell for me for a few days. :[ They are not fun at all.

I hope they help you at least, and you feel better soon!

Yeah. Most doctors are kinda bad at the whole "gentle" thing. Which, when you're already in pain, doesn't help. And it helps even less when they're blissfully ignorant that MAYBE, just maybe it would be nice to, oh you know... give you something to deal with the aftermath of all their exploratory prods, pokes, and general ham-handedness.

Ahem. I uh... have a bit of a thing against the way most doctors go about things. <.< As you can probably tell.

Anyway! I hope the injections and splints help, once the pain wears off and that things get better. I know I'm just a random person on the interwebs, but when things get bad, know that I'm sending you all the <3s I can. *hugs*
